Competence before Comprehension (2)
We try to give an example of a "Competence before Comprehension" strategy

When you click on this link, you see a picture wich will not tell you much at first.

But you notice the "Get the Puzzle" button on the bottom. So you press it.

This looks rather complicated...

This looks rather complicated, but you start to notice, that the content of the graphical blocks are the same as in the picture before. There is 'R
, 'phi
, sin
and so on.

Nevertheless, it is all cumbersome, but maybe there is something interesting on the next page, so you click the >
button.

Wohow, even more complicated stuff...

Wohow, even more complicated stuff, so things got worse. But at the bottom a text says that you need to solve the previous puzzle to get some help on this one.

You press the <
button.

Again, the start screen...

Again, the start screen. But at least it shows you what the result of the puzzle should be. In the previous picture only the pieces where shown.

You press the "Get the Puzzle" button.

We give a hint how to proceed...

We give a hint how to proceed. You grasp the recipe immediately.

After finishing, you see the following result.

This should do the trick...

This should do the trick to finally solve the puzzle.

After finishing, you see the following result.

The color button...

The color button indicates that you are on the right track. It is modeled after Wordle. Can you finish the puzzle now? After all, you can look up the solution in one of the pictures above.

After proving that you finished the puzzle correctly (all code is green), the   >   button becomes green itself. This means you can move to the next page and get the solution to the next puzzle.

One last trick
The last puzzle of the chapter is the easiest one, being just one block called "End of Chapter". So to prove that you solved it, just press the Color
button and then the
  >
button. Now all puzzles are unlocked and the solutions shown. After all, if you read carefully in the according screenshot, it is said: "the green arrow will unlock the chapter up to the next page". The whole chapter up to the next page, that is.
To quickly jump to the last page of the chapter, click the dropdown on the lower left of the workspace, then select the "Lyrics" chapter. Then go back one page with <
(or have fun with Bob Dylan songs). See, it's all a matter of know how.
